Plan Overview

Safety is our top priority at A Lotte Horses. Given our location 2.3 miles up a canyon, it’s essential to have an efficient evacuation plan. This plan ensures the safety of all children and staff in case of an emergency, such as a wildfire, severe weather, or other urgent situations.

 

Evacuation Procedure

1. Emergency Notification

• In the event of an emergency requiring evacuation, parents/guardians will be notified immediately via the Remind app. This is the only reliable way we have to send a notification to all (different cell carriers do not reliably deliver messages across networks and from wifi) Join Remind here, notifications are free: https://www.remind.com/join/lottehorse

• Staff will assemble all children in the designated safety zone beside the parking area in the A Lotte Horses corral area.

​

2. Transportation Plan

• Children will be grouped into pre-assigned evacuation teams.
• Vehicles will transport children in an orderly manner down Wheeler Cyn towards Foothill Dr.

• Our default location to evacuate is Olivelands School parking lot.

Parental Responsibilities - We ask all parents and guardians to support this plan by doing the following, especially when we have high risk conditions such as red flag warnings:

​

• On-Site Parents: To minimize traffic congestion, we encourage at least 1 in 4 parents to remain on- site during during high risk weather. In an emergency, having parents with vehicles already at the ranch will speed up our evacuation process and help us keep children safe.

• Volunteer Drivers: If you have a reliable vehicle and are willing to assist with evacuations, please communicate with staff that you can help transport children.

• Reunification: Off-site parents will be instructed on where to pick up their children after evacuation.

• Keep Contact Information Up to Date: Please ensure your emergency contact details are current and accurate.
